Rain and mud didn't dampened the spirits of the competitors at the BCU Coffs Tri on the weekend. The 1.5km swim course was perfectly set out within the jetty area of the Coffs Harbour. A short sharp pinch at the start of the 40km cycle course kept it interesting as did the 10km run course along the seawall and jetty. The friendly volunteers and spectators were incredibly encouraging for the 5 Byron Tri Club members participating in the 6th race of the North Coast Interclub Series. Congratulations goes to Nik Howe who completed the Olympic Distance is 2 hours 10 mins and was 16th overall. In the age groups Danielle Van Zuylen 4th, Alan Rowe 4th, Deborah Fuller 7th and Claire O'Meara 8th. Each member made it in the top 8 providing the much needed points for the club. The last race of the series will be in Byron Bay on 11th May.
